Dr. Ben Shneiderman, Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Maryland at College Park, is a world-renown and award-winning researcher in the field of Human-Computer interaction. He has authored numerous well-respected books and articles in this field including Leonardo's Laptop (http://mitpress.mit.edu/leonardoslaptop), a book about the future of computing in supporting people and creativity. Dr. Shneiderman’s talk will give an overview of creativity research, demonstrate current software, suggest ways to improve design of creativity support tools, and propose evaluation strategies and invite the audience to contribute to the June 2007 Conference on Creativity & Cognition: http://www.cs.umd.edu/hcil/CC2007. Leonardo's Laptop will be available for purchase and signing by Dr. Shneiderman during the reception.
