The Banff New Media Institute (BNMI) is a world-class research and content innovation centre. Fundamental to BNMI is the belief that the creative sector – art and cultural industries – in collaboration with scientists, social scientists, and humanists have a critical role to play in developing technologies and content that work for human betterment. We draw on over fifteen years of new media efforts at The Banff Centre. Working with key partners, BNMI leverages the capacities of networked knowledge and technology. BNMI focuses on the culture of use and participation, enabling the creation of technologies and content.
